Thursday Tracks — LANY, LOLO, HAIM, Crystal Fighters, and Ella Eyre

LANY–ILYSB

The gentlemen that comprise LANY hail from Nashville and Los Angeles. They seem to have popped out of nowhere because no one knows anything about them yet. This is a pretty down tempo feel-good tune that have you humming it throughout your day and putting it on repeat.

LOLO–Hit and Run

LOLO is an up and coming, self-proclaimed southern belle, mashing together an intense mix of hip-hop, rock & roll, and southern blues. Her background in musical theater is evident in her powerful Adele-meets-Natasha-Bedingfield vocals. Two seconds into this song you’ll be hooked.

HAIM–The Wire

HAIM (pronounced “hime,” not “hame”) is an American rock group from San Fernando Valley, fronted by three sisters with a drummer whose first name is Dash. Dash. For real. The sisters’ vocal harmonies blend together so perfect, living up to the valley girl vibe (in a good way). This song is so hipster rock that you might need to get one arm tattooed to listen to this song.

Crystal Fighters–Love Alight

Cyrstal Fighters is a British electronic group that took their name from an unfinished Spanish manuscript that one of the band member’s grandfather wrote. This song is a four-to-the-floor tune with lighter vocals giving it that quaint across the ocean feel. This song is catchy, best played with the windows down, cruising down to the beach on a summer night.

Ella Eyre–Deeper

Ella Eyre is a musical prodigy. At the age of 20, she already has several striking tracks to her name, including this one. Her strong RnB vocals are striking, with her British accent poking through, adding to her subtle edge. This song has a bouncy, playful rhythm that juxtaposes the mature lyrics Erye sings.
